It, like many other MFA programs, relies heavily on adjunct labor and instructors are not fairly compensated for their labor and expertise.<\/p>\n<p><s>The <a href=\"http:\/\/fiction.setonhill.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MFA program in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University<\/a> in Greensburg, PA is an unusual one.\u00a0 First and foremost is the program&#8217;s emphasis on popular rather than literary fiction. Many traditional MFA programs scorn science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, young adult\u00a0literature, and romance; Seton Hill embraces these genres. Other programs may not explicitly disdain\u00a0popular fiction, but the focus is entirely on craft, and students often get very little instruction on how to actually navigate the perilous world of publishing or how to\u00a0make a living as a working writer.
