On Friday, November 14th, I’ll be appearing at the Grand Rapids Comic-Con<\/a> as one of their literary guests<\/a>. If you’re attending the convention, please drop by and say “Hi!”<\/p>\n

I’ll have a table in the literary guest area (location to be announced by the convention later). Programming-wise, I’ll be presenting a solo panel:<\/p>\n

About The Grand Rapids Comic-Con<\/h4>\n

Mark and Jennifer Hodges, along with a dedicated staff of college convention operators, produced the first show on October 12, 2013. The inaugural show was a tremendous success. Almost 10,000 people showed up for the one-day event, thousands of whom were turned away due to fire code restrictions.<\/p>\n

The second Grand Rapids Comic-Con\u00a0 moved into the much DeltaPlex and added Hollywood celebrities to their guest list. Held on November 21-23, 2014, the convention drew 16,000 people\u2014and they turned away as many as 4000 people again on Saturday due to building limitations.<\/p>\n

In their third year, the convention moved into the spacious DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids for their annual event on October 16-18, 2015. With an even larger guest list, the Grand Rapids Comic-Con had a huge increase in attendance with over 22,000 people.<\/p>\n

From 2016-2019, the convention saw even more growth, and led to the addition of a summer show in 2021, followed by the now-annual Kalamazoo Comic-Con edition of the convention held each spring alongside the annual fall show at the DeVos Place.<\/p>\n
